Description: Beautiful and
emotional
wall plate from Heljä Liukko-Sundström. Professor Heljä Liukko-Sundström (1938) joined the Arabian Arts and Crafts Department in 1962, from where she moved to the Art Department in 1967. Heljä is known both as a ceramic and visual artist and as a storyteller. She has received many awards and honors, including the Illum Arts Prize, the State Prize for Children’s Culture, the Gold Medal in Italy, the Gualdo Tadino and the Pro Finlandia Medal. She received the honorary title of professor in 1994.
This river wall plate is quite rare and made in the early years of
Liukko-Sundström’s long artist career. This makes it
